Welcome to our FIRST GIVEAWAY POST! We are really excited to show our loyal readers just how much we appreciate you all! Since we recently had the pleasure of meeting and greeting many of the San Diego food bloggers at the Share our Strengths Bake Sale this past weekend, we are excited for the upcoming Taste of Little Italy!

We had so much fun at this event last year, so whether you win some tickets or buy some tickets, meet us down there at the corner of Date and India Streets, where we will exchange our tickets for passports and tour Little Italy!

My favorite Italian meal is my Uncle Norman’s Salami Pasta. It’s so simple but SO flavorful. He dated an Italian lady before and she taught him how to make it! YUM!

I was in Italy briefly when I was 14 and too young to properly enjoy the food. If I go back, I’d love to go back for a long time… maybe live in Sicily for a little while.

I’m so bummed I can’t go next week! I love Italy, if I could live anywhere I’d pick Florence – great food, amazing art & architecture, and central to everything. Plus the light is amazing. But if I could only visit one place then Capri for sure. Have fun at the event!

my favorite italian restaurant was a little ma + pop local restaurant in my hometown in Maryland. even now that i live in the heart of SD’s Little Italy, i remember with great fondness all of our sunday night family dinners at that little restaurant where the portion sizes were practically larger than my little 9 year old self. now, my husband and i love to try and recreate italian dishes using local, fresh & authentic ingredients from SD Little Italy’s awesome italian markets & delis.

Oh man I can’t get enough of Italian food!!! My favorite place used to be in Del Mar (Giorgio’s Osteria Del Pescatore) but they closed and a Prep Kitchen opened instead… *tear!* So many fond memories there!!!

Love you on FB….and have tryed and saved all your receipes. I remember going to my Junior Prom, and making a major mistake of wearing a WHITE formal…and then having dinner at Filippi’s, 1966…I was so worried the entire dinner….red spagetti sauce on my formal! Grew up in that area and love all that Little Italy has to offer. Please tell your readers about the great tours of the area, Anthony is the best, so much history.
