You may have been wondering what this LYK hiatus has been about over the last few days.
Well, after eating our way through San Francisco all weekend we are back to good ‘ol San Diego and ready to share our experiences, culinary delights and newly acquired food blogging friends with you!
Friday started off with a bang as we indulged in all sorts of delicious hummus appetizers during the reception. Hummus pizzas, hummus lettuce wraps, hummus pastry bites…it never ends!
Onward to dinner. We ate our way down the buffet nibbling on all sorts of fancy bites and comfort cuisine; including Jenna’s Mac n’ Cheese which literally made me squeal with joy.
Then Top Chef Just Desserts were served up. Fab.
The next day we had a simple but tasty breakfast as we listened to Joy, Jessica, Kath and Tracy answer all kinds of questions about taking your blog to the next level. They were so honest, down to earth and encouraging…thanks for the insight ladies!
After a couple of other workshops we hit the town to do a little shopping with our friend Elle from Nutritionella before heading over to the largest tasting event of our lives.
(How we didn’t get a picture with this awesome gal is beyond me! I suppose all the chatting distracted us all.)
So, the tasting event was perhaps my favorite part of the trip, beside meeting Tyler Florence (duh).
Sixty+ awesome brands of food and drinks giving out samples of their products.
We ate a lot…
and ate more…
(Definition of: Holy Guacamole)
and drank a bit…
and ate even more…
Oh, then an hour after we stopped eating at the taste pavilion, it was time for a quick nap and then off to the gala dinner. Yep, more food.
We chatted it up with Irvin from Eat the Love for a while as we munched on some Alexia fries.
When dinner started, we took a seat with our new pal Rhiana from Super Fancy Chef to watch Tyler do a brined pork chop cooking demonstration.
It literally felt like we were watching his TV show, so awesome!
Then, you guessed it, we ate some more…
I mean, honestly though, what else would you expect from a foodie event?!
After a long day we got some sleep and woke up to…yep, eat again!
We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast with a view of the Bay Bridge.
You can probably guess that we are already dreaming about next year’s Foodbuzz Festival!
And so, we leave you with a cocktail my friends, straight from one of our favorite tastings at the festival!
