Strawberry Goat Cheese Tea Sandwich {with balsamic dipping sauce}

I made these on a whim the other day because Chris purchased an extra large package of goat cheese for a pizza we made, and I was a little worried we wouldn’t get through it all before it spoils.

Normally devouring cheese isn’t an issue in the LYK, but this log of goat cheese is a bit oversized even for us. I suppose he was just trying to be thorough when he was sent to the store though.

Conveniently, our friends were hosting a Valentine’s Day tea party, so I brought these over to share the love.

Perhaps you’re single and your girlfriends are having a gathering for Valentine’s Day. Possibly your kids just need a little heart shaped something in their lunch pales on Thursday. Or maybe your cooking at home for your man.

Either way these are a fabulous little treat that everyone is sure to enjoy.

While the balsamic dip is option, it’s highly recommended. And if you happen to have chocolate balsamic on hand, then by all means please dip away!

We’ve been caught up in a new show these days, Downton Abbey. I’m now constantly tempted to say things with a British accent.

So naturally these British accents couldn’t be stopped as we sipped tea and ate tiny sandwiches filled with tangy cheese and sweet strawberries.

Strawberry Goat Cheese Tea Sandwich

Ingredients

Sliced bread

Strawberries, sliced

Goat cheese

Balsamic Vinegar

Directions

Toast slices of bread then use a small heart shaped cookie cutter to make 2 hearts out of each slice. Spread each heart with about 1/2 teaspoon of goat cheese. Lay three strawberry slices on every other slice and top with another heart slice.

Reduce 1/4 cup balsamic by half and pour into small dipping bowls. Dip sandwiches into balsamic and enjoy with tea!
