Cantaloupe Agua Fresca {with chia seeds}

I’m preparing for the bachelorette party a month in advance. Getting all authentic on you guys with this Mexican refresher.

This drink was actually my coworkers idea. I’ve been gathering inspiration from those around me lately and it’s always entertaining to hear what other people think I should make. Seriously, try it.

Ask around and I guarantee you’ll get some fun responses that will perk your imagination. We’ve been making chia seed pudding for months now but I decided add some chia to an agua fresca because well, that’s what Mexico would do.

It’s a simple, ultra-hydrating, addition to an already deliciously refreshing fruit drink. One sip and you’ll be floating off to Cabo San Lucas, lying on the beach, soaking up the sunshine.

Oh wait, that would actually be me in about a month, although you can definitely imagine yourself there with this drink in hand.

P.S. Don’t be afraid to add a little tequila!

Cantaloupe Agua Fresca {with chia seeds}

Makes 4 Drinks

Ingredients

4 cups cantaloupe, diced

3 cups water

3 teaspoons lime juice

2 tablespoons sugar (or less if your cantaloupe is really sweet)

3 tablespoons chia seed

Directions

Blend cantaloupe, water, lime juice, and sugar on high until completely smooth. Stir in chia seed. Refrigerate for 1 hour then serve over ice.
