Today marks the 1st year anniversary of the LYK. Yes, ’tis true. We have spent the last year creating, cooking, styling, photographing, and eating loads of food.
Oh, we have also done some fun things…such as:
Bake and decorate Mustache Cookies on a Stick for the Shaper Studio’s Movember Charity Event.
We’ve been on the San Diego Morning News to promote a charity food blogger bake sale:
We went to the 2011 Foodbuzz Festival to gorge ourselves with amazing food and meet other awesome food bloggers. Oh, and we met Tyler Florence!!! (he was just as happy to meet us, really, he was)
We’ve attended tons of localFood Tastingsand even a few Beer Fests…
So WHY do we blog?
…because we love everything food-related and we love our dearly devoted readers.
I’d like to say that we have gained tons of weight, too, you know, for a good cause (aka getting people stoked on cooking and eating well.) But we really haven’t. Phew!
So, I suppose if you are intentionally looking to drop a few LBs then I guess you should eat everything that we eat. Because it seems to work. You can start by perusing our archives or Recipe Page.
*Remember this when the New Year rounds the corner and all you watch on tv, hear on the radio, see in the magazines and read in your inbox seems to be about weightloss, diets, and trimming off those holiday treats. They always seem to get us at our weakest point. It’s not like we eat like that all year-round… I might have just lied, I think I eat like that, regardless of the season.
Honestly, we turned to food blogging as a means to dig ourselves out of that post-graduate “OK-now-what-do-I-do-with-my-life” rut. It has opened our eyes to a whole other world of food, friends, and awesome events. We are so excited to keep doing what we do, and are so blessed to have tons new friends in our lives.
Since we all have busy lives, and the reality that even our biggest fans (like our moms) have the time to daily visit the LYK, are indeed slim; so, we would LOVE to take this time to provide you with a recipe recap from the past glorious year of blogging.
